Jeff’s Right Brain
This page contains my more artistic side. It includes speeches and essays that I’ve written.
What Was My Mom - My mother never had a proper funeral; instead, my whole side of the family got together at a house on the Oregon coast. There were 20 of us in 3 generations. We had a memorial get together on the beach, one of my mom's favorites, with a huge bon fire. I read this to all of my family that evening.
I Brushed Cheeks With the Devil - This was the last speech I delivered while I was a part of Toastmasters.
The Declaration - This was one of my favorite speeches at Toastmasters. I gave it around the 4th of July. It analyzes the preamble of the Declaration of Independence, in my opinion, one of the most important documents in America.
Building a Flying Machine - This is a "speech" in the form of a powerpoint presentation that was one of the Toastmasters required speeches.
Goodbye Vidal - This is an email I sent out to each and every employee of Nvidia in April of 2000 after my great friend and work buddy, Vidal Limpin, died at 33 due to a showstopper bug in his heart. It was one of the saddest times of my life. I read this at his funeral :(
